Unitec Research Bank outage

Kia ora koutou

From Monday 1 July to Sunday 21 July (three weeks), the Unitec Research Bank will be unavailable.

The outage is due to the migration of the Research Bank from the Waikato University servers, where it has been hosted for a number of years, to the Unitec servers. This process is happening for at least four organisations, as Waikato University has decided to no longer host the repositories of other institutions.

During this time, any links to research stored in the Research Bank will be broken, so please use other channels to share your work.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused and please be assured we will do what we can to have the Research Bank available again as quickly as possible. When it's available again, all links will be reinstated with no updates necessary.

Please contact Anna Wheeler for more information.

Ngā mihi

Happy Matariki - Māori New Year

Kia ora e te whānau,

Wishing you a happy Matariki, Māori New Year - Nga Mihi o Matariki, te tau hou Māori, ki a tatou katoa!

Matariki (also known as the Pleiades cluster) signals the Māori New Year. This year Matariki rises above Aotearoa on Tuesday 25th June that announces the beginning of the traditional Māori New Year, an important time in the Māori calendar.

Traditionally, new year celebrations provided the opportunity for whānau to come together and celebrate with kai, korero and waiata and to reflect on the year gone by and begin planning for the new year ahead.

Unitec Library has resources both in print and electronic that gives more information about the history of Matariki. Check out the Unitec Library catalogue and our Matariki subject guide.

Come in and see our displays at both Te Puna and Waitākere Library.

Use the hashtag #matariki to follow the events on social media.
