Being honest in your studies - Academic Integrity

No one likes it when others take credit for work they have not done.  This is what we are talking about when we refer to Academic Integrity.

Academic Integrity means intellectual honesty with regard to the use of information and in the pursuit of knowledge and understanding.  As a student at Unitec it is your responsibility to find out why it is important to you and your studies and how to ensure you get it right.

Another tool to check the originality of your assignment is Turnitin.  See our library webpage  Turnitin for Students

When submitting assignments at Unitec, you will be asked to include a assignment coversheet.  By signing this, you are saying that the work you are submitting is your own work.
This cover sheet is usually available from a link on your Moodle course page.  If there is no specific coversheet suggested for your assignment you can use the generic assignment coversheet which is available from Student Central  and also linked from the Unitec website under Current Students > Student Central > Our Services > Applications and Request Forms
