ANZAC display at Unitec libraries

Our librarian, Geraldine, has created a display of information about Anzac Day and its meaning at Waitākere Library. Anzac Day is commemorated annually on 25 April.

This day marks the anniversary of the landing of New Zealand and Australian troops, popularly known as Anzacs (the acronym for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps), on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey in 1915. While the campaign ended in military defeat, it is widely claimed that the Gallipoli experience helped foster a sense of nationhood in both New Zealand and Australia.

In Te Puna at Mt Albert, the Anzac display was organised by Amy. It is located in the koru pod directly opposite the Ask Me Desk.

Unitec is closed on Anzac Day.

New books and journals display moved closer to Ask Me desk at Te Puna

In December 2023, the New Books and Journals display shelves were moved closer to the Ask Me desk on level 1, Building 180. This is part of the new layout of the hub space.

You will find a range of our recent additions to library resources. You can borrow these books and journals by issuing them at the self-check machines.

Browse through the newest titles that include art, architecture, business, construction, engineering, Māori and Pacific-related content.

The collection is refreshed about every two weeks. Come and check out the notable titles for teaching and research.

See the location map for more information.
