Faka-Tonga, Tongan Language Week 2019 with Unitec Library.
The theme for this year is: Fakakoloa 'o Aotearoa 'aki 'a e Tauhi Fonua - A Tongan
Perspective of Enriching Aotearoa, New Zealand.
This will run from Sunday 1 September - Saturday 7 September 2019. Also known as the 'Friendly Islands' the Kingdom of Tonga is divided into three main groups - Vava'u, Ha'apai and Tongatapu islands. Tongans are the third largest Pacific community in Aotearoa and the Tongan language is a central feature of the culture and identity.
