System alert: Outage to LibrarySearch login on 24 April

LibrarySearch login will be unavailable on Thursday 24th April from 5.30pm to 11.00pm.

 

During this outage:

• Library users will not able to access their correct library account online via their LibrarySearch login. This means they will not be able to see a list of their loans or renew or request online, or see their favourited library records.
•  Also the Library TXT notices service will not work during the outage.

Please note it may appear that users are logged in but they will not be logged in correctly unless their full name displays in the top right hand corner of LibrarySearch. 

 

This outage is because IMS system engineers will be carrying out PeopleSoft database maintenance on Thursday 24th April from 5.30pm to 11.00pm.

 

During this period as well as the Library login the following other systems will be unavailable:

 

Login to the MyUnitec Portal for both staff and students and all services accessed via the portal

ALL Peoplesoft Environments (CS. HCM. FMS, CRM)

GroupWise External Access (via Portal)  although GroupWise is available via  http://webmail.unitec.ac.nz

EBSCO scheduled maintenance on Sat 29 March

On Saturday  29 March 2014 the  EBSCO databases and services may be intermittently unavailable while perform network upgrades are performed.  

This may occur between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00.pm.   This means that there will potential outages during this time.

Being honest in your studies - Academic Integrity

No one likes it when others take credit for work they have not done.  This is what we are talking about when we refer to Academic Integrity.

Another tool to check the originality of your assignment is Turnitin.  See our library webpage  Turnitin for Students

When submitting assignments at Unitec, you will be asked to include a assignment coversheet.  By signing this, you are saying that the work you are submitting is your own work. 
This cover sheet is usually available from a link on your Moodle course page.  If there is no specific coversheet suggested for your assignment you can use the generic assignment coversheet which is available from Student Central  and also linked from the Unitec website under Current Students > Student Central > Our Services > Applications and Request Forms

What login username and password do I use?

When you enroll at Unitec, you will be issued with a login username and password.  This is what you use to log into all Unitec systems.  These include

• MyUnitec portal - 
• to pay fees, update contact details, view course timetables, results
• Student email and file storage
• Ask Student Central, Library TXT reminders and other useful services
• accessing MyLibrary for requesting and renewing books, accessing ebooks and databases
• using Unitec wifi connections 
• using Unitec computers

NOTE: If you want to change this password, this does not change your Moodle password.

Moodle

The same user name and password that you are given when you enroll will let you log into Moodle at the start of semester. Moodle is the online learning environment for your courses where your lecturers can post assignments, lesson notes, course materials and resources, and facilitate discussions with you and your classmates.


NOTE: This password is used in Moodle only.  If you change this password, it does not change the password to the list of Unitec systems indicated about.

Ebooks supplied through the EBL platform will be unavailable on Sunday 2 March from 1:00-5:00 pm.  Enhancements and updates to the EBL system are being put in place.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
